Wedding Ceremony Murder Mystery

Wedding Murder Mystery!

Murder One have staged many wedding murder mystery events for receptions, but in September 2021 an actual wedding ceremony was interrupted by the arrival of our police and news of a murder! The Bride and Groom had married virtually alone during Covid restrictions, however wanted a unique murder mystery for their 120 guests and outdoor ceremony at the wonderful Barn at Upcote in Cheltenham. Only the happy couple were in on it, and had booked our package that includes additional uniformed officers for added realism! As the celebrant was conducting the ceremony, and on the brink of repeating their vows, our Detective Inspector (played by an ex ‘real life’ Detective Sergeant!) flanked by uniform officers marched down the aisle to announce the murder! The duped guests looked on in shock as police marched out 8 of our suspects – who’d been planted amongst the guests 24 hours previously. They’d been observed having hushed confrontations in the hotel bar the night before as well at breakfast and also on the coaches that transported the guests and our suspects from a Double Tree Hilton to the wedding venue!

With the Groomsmen and Best Man confronting the police and urging them to take this matter elsewhere so that the ceremony could continue, the Swedish celebrant (at this typically flamboyant Swedish wedding!) announced that all was not as it seemed and the briefly bemused guests were now challenged to solve a murder mystery – to great cheers of relief!  The event was captured on the real body cams of our ex police officers who were playing the uniformed cops, and footage will follow when we’ve recovered! In the meantime here are a couple of testimonials from the Bride, Groom and Best Man…
